The 79th Group and its subsidiaries are dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we operate. From the locality surrounding our head office in the United Kingdom to the people of West Africa who live in and around our natural resource concessions, we ensure that charity is always at the heart of what we do.

Accredited by several internationally-recognised standards, as well as participating in the United Nations Global Compact, Green Mark and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), we strive to ensure that our operations consistently align to best practices, policies and procedures.

Our environmental, social and governance policy is especially key for the Group’s operations in West Africa. Over the past year, the Group has committed to regenerating an entire village, providing essential facilities and services including healthcare and education.

Southport FC

After giving up a promising football career due to injuries potentially attained from poor pitch quality, The 79th Group’s Investment Director Curtis Webster felt that it was imperative to improve facilities and future prospects for young footballers in the local community.

The 79th Group and its subsidiaries have pledged £2500 to National League North club Southport F.C. as a donation for the junior and youth set-ups, maximising the opportunities available for younger talent connected to the club.

Claire House Children's Hospice

Based near our United Kingdom headquarters, the amazing team at Claire House provide invaluable medical care and support to seriously and terminally ill children and their families. They help the children live their lives to the full by creating wonderful experiences, bringing a sense of normality back to family life, and making them smile again when life couldn’t get tougher.

During each of our visits, The 79th Group’s directors have time and again been blown away by the hard work and dedication needed to keep Claire House running, as they are primarily funded by donations alone. This is why we have decided to further support their efforts via continued fundraisers, including our 79 Miles campaign, Big Festive Quiz and weekly Casual Friday events.

National Football League Academy in the Republic of Guinea

The 79th Group is delighted to sponsor the National Football League Academy in the Republic of Guinea, where the majority of our natural resource operations are located. The academy is attended by the brightest and most motivated football players in the country, with many setting their sights on the Premier League. We are fortunate to be able to support these enthusiastic athletes to realise their full potential.

In the future, we plan to invite football scouts from the United Kingdom to travel with us to the academy – where they’ll hopefully spot the next Naby Keita!
